When I watch videos about the Montage, I can't help but wonder if arranger players are a dying breed?

In a way, maybe I'll find out.

One of the students where I teach(age 17 I think) just bought a Yamaha DGX 650. I have just started to explain to him what arranger functions are. He didn't know his keyboard had those capabilities.

Rog, most people don't have a clue as to ALL the things they can do with an arranger keyboard.

I did preorder a Montage 8.... I will add to my T4 and psr950 and my MOXF 8.. I have an understanding wife..... I always seem to be looking for that perfect sound which I know I will never find.... That keeps me buying... A new keyboard also seems to inspire me and helps get me excited about playing and writing... It's a never ending cycle and I'm sure the manufacturers want it that way.... The manufacturers will give you a golden egg from time to time... They will never give you the goose!!

Montage will be great! Just not for me right now. Higher quality sounds but lots of polyphony to make those sounds... 8 elements per part... Multiple parts to create that one awesome piano sound. That's why there is no 16 track sequencer! After 4 tracks... Piano, Bass, String, Guitar... You could have polyphony issues like I had with the 4 element original Motif... Much better with the 2nd Generation.

I'll wait for the Tyros upgrade or the Montage "ES"!!
